SEST time-lapse

Time-lapse of the Swedish–ESO Submillimeter Telescope (SEST) with a spectacular view of the Milky Way Galaxy as moves across the night sky. At the time of first light, The Swedish–ESO Submillimeter Telescope (SEST) was the only large sub-millimeter telescope in the southern hemisphere. The telescope was decommissioned in 2003, and is superseded by APEX, and ALMA, on Chajnantor.
